Vitamix 5300 vs 7500

Vitamix 5300 vs 7500: Which One to Choose?

Although having a lot in common and being produced by the same manufacturer, Vitamix 5300 and Vitamix 7500 have enough differences, which are rather significant and make them belong to various classes of blenders. It’s not a secret that the older model is less popular and has worse characteristics, but it’s cheaper. Let’s consider what advantages make Vitamix 7500 better and more expensive comparing with the previous models.

Motor Type

These two blenders are designed with different motor. This feature is the most important and makes Vitamix 5300 to be called “Standard” model, and Vitamix 750 – “Next Generation” one. In spite of the fact that the motor of Vitamix 5300 is much better than the motors of older models, it’s still not as good as the one of Next Generation, which is suspended and claimed to be 40% quieter than the motor of Standard blenders group. However, you must know that any existing Vitamix model is more or less noisy when working on high speeds.

Motor Housing

As a consequence of Next Generation motor, Vitamix 7500 features modern motor housing. Comparing with 5300 model, the motor housing of Vitamix 7500 is sleek and looks more up-to-date. Vitamix 5300 is more subjected to overheating. That is because Standard motor housing of “Classic” design has smaller intake air vents, thus, the motor of Next Generation model is cooled better.

Complements

Vitamix 5300 is supplied with a booklet “Getting Started Plus” containing only 70 recipes. In contrast, Vitamix 7500 comes with a cookbook “Simply Fresh” including over 200 recipes and, in addition, an instructional DVD, apart from an ordinary “Getting Started” guide.

Common Characteristics

However, these blenders possess common features which are specific for the manufacturer. Both Vitamix 5300 and Vitamix 7500 are sold with Low Profile container (wide-bottomed 64 oz wet container). By the way, it’s advised to order a narrow bottomed container at once, as it will enable you to blend less than 2 cups volume, which wide-bottomed one can’t do. Another common feature is Variable Speed Control which allows choosing among 10 speeds.

While Vitamix 5300 is better than other machines of Standard class, Vitamix 7500 is absolutely identical with other Next Generation blenders, Pro 300 and the Creations Elite. They are just different names of technically the same blender supplied with different cookbooks.
